GameDriver joins the PlayStation® Middleware Program

GameDriver joins the PlayStation® Middleware Program, offering automated testing solutions to developers

GameDriver® Inc., the leading automated testing solution for gaming and XR experiences, has joined the Sony PlayStation® Middleware Program. The announcement means that GameDriver is now an authorized middleware tools provider for PlayStation 4 (PS4™) and PlayStation 5 (PS5™).

The partnership grants GameDriver access to Sony’s SDK and development kits for PS4 and PS5, including PlayStation VR (PS VR) and PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2). This enables the company to certify its solution on these platforms, ensuring developers can easily access GameDriver’s automated testing solutions to optimize their game development and quality assurance processes.

"We are thrilled to be included in Sony Interactive’s Middleware Program for PlayStation,” said Phillip Mayhew, Chief Technology Officer at GameDriver. “Now game studios can easily implement test automation into the PlayStation development process, enhancing the quality and efficiency of game development.”

GameDriver's platform is widely recognized as the best test automation solution for game engines. As an official middleware tools provider, GameDriver offers authorized PlayStation developers using Unity and Unreal Engine immediate access to a comprehensive suite of automated testing features, empowering them to create higher quality games faster, more efficiently, and ultimately with reduced QA costs.

Developers for PS4 and PS5 can now utilize GameDriver's on-device testing capabilities to test directly on PlayStation development kits, providing an accurate assessment of game functionality and user experience. GameDriver’s solutions enable developers to simulate inputs, improve test coverage for 2D, 3D, and VR environments, and streamline debugging efforts with industry-leading object identification.

By significantly reducing the need for manual testing and reliance on editor-based testing tools, GameDriver offers substantial ROI to studios, freeing up developers to find high-quality bugs. Ultimately, gamers will be the ones to benefit from this partnership, as a result of fewer bugs in PlayStation games that are developed using GameDriver’s solutions.

Today’s announcement makes GameDriver one of the most comprehensive, accessible, and flexible testing tools available for the PS4 and PS5 platforms and marks the first time that the company’s automated testing solutions have been made officially available to PlayStation developers.

GameDriver for PlayStation is available now through the PlayStation Developer Portal.
